Internal Regulations

These guidelines ensure a safe, respectful, and smooth learning environment for everyone.
By participating in an event at Ermitaj, each participant agrees to respect the following rules.

Daily Schedule

Punctuality is essential for the coherence and quality of the learning process.

Participants are expected to be present and ready at the announced start times so that sessions can begin as scheduled.

18:45–20:00 Dinner

The program may be adjusted depending on weather, group dynamics, the training or pedagogical needs.

Respect for the Place

Ermitaj is both a learning space and a living ecosystem.

Participants are expected to:

  • Avoid littering or leaving cigarette butts
  • Avoid excessive noise, especially after 22:00
  • Respect quiet areas, including camping and sleeping spaces
  • Use electronic devices discreetly

Smoking is prohibited indoors and near flammable materials such as hay, straw, or wooden structures.

Smokers must ensure they do not disturb others. Non-smokers are encouraged to communicate immediately if cigarette smoke bothers them.

Behavior and Community Life

All participants are expected to act with mutual respect, tolerance, and consideration.

The abuse of alcohol or the use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited.

The organizers reserve the right to exclude any participant whose behavior seriously disrupts the course, compromises safety, or damages the environment.

In case of exclusion for misconduct, no refund will be issued.

Shared Resources

Ermitaj provides access to books, games, and musical instruments.

Participants must:

  • Ask permission before use
  • Handle materials with care
  • Return items immediately after use

Any damage caused intentionally or through negligence may result in financial liability.

Meals and Kitchen Access

Kitchen access is restricted to designated cooks.

Participants may be invited to assist with communal tasks such as setting tables or washing dishes.

Food waste should be avoided whenever possible.

Off-Grid Conditions

Ermitaj operates off-grid. Resources such as water and electricity are limited.

Participants must:

  • Avoid high-energy appliances such as hairdryers
  • Turn off lights and unplug devices when not in use
  • Use water responsibly
  • Use biodegradable hygiene products

If necessary, organizers may temporarily restrict water or electricity use.

Mobile signal coverage is limited to certain operators. Internet access may be unstable.

Comfort and Living Conditions

Accommodation conditions are simple and ecological.

Participants acknowledge that Ermitaj does not offer hotel-level infrastructure.

Compost toilets are used for ecological and water-saving reasons.

By registering, participants accept these conditions.

Safety

Each participant is responsible for their own safety and for acting in a way that does not endanger others.

Ermitaj includes animals, tools, natural terrain, and professional equipment. Certain areas may present risks.

Participants must:

  • Treat animals with care
  • Follow all safety instructions
  • Use tools only with authorization and supervision
  • Avoid lighting fires near buildings or flammable materials

Failure to follow safety instructions may result in exclusion without refund.

Minors

Minors remain entirely under the responsibility of their legal guardians at all times.

Ermitaj declines any liability concerning minors.

Pets

Participants are encouraged to attend without pets.

If a pet is brought with prior approval, the owner assumes full responsibility for any damage or disturbance caused.

If no solution can be found in case of disruption, organizers may exclude the participant without refund.

Insurance and Liability

Participants are solely responsible for their decision to attend the event.

Participants are encouraged to hold personal liability and health insurance.

The organization shall not be held liable for:

  • Loss or damage of personal belongings
  • Injuries resulting from failure to follow instructions
  • Incidents occurring outside structured activities

Health

Participants must assess whether they are physically and mentally fit to attend.

Any allergies or relevant medical conditions must be communicated in advance.

Photos and Videos

Photos and videos may be taken during events for documentation and communication purposes.

Participants who do not wish to appear in visual materials must inform the organizers in writing before the start of the event.

Program Adaptation

Workshop content and schedule may be adapted depending on weather conditions, group composition, or pedagogical considerations.
