I had heard wonderful things about Ermitaj for a while and was very happy to participate in the tree care workshop in April 2025. Remy and Coline, along with Basil, are wonderful and very generous hosts. They make sure that the relationships built around Ermitaj are beneficial and reciprocal for everyone. They managed to make us feel at home very quickly.
Even if this was a shorter workshop, in a small group and in less than ideal weather conditions, we found ourselves in a group of people with a deep love of trees and plants, interested in learning how to better work with nature. The light snow, strong winds and moody weather may have slowed us down a bit, but without putting any pressure on the group to reach the initial goals, most of us got the chance to climb, use the safety gear, and prune some of the old fruit trees in the orchard.
The place itself is stunning, especially if you are a lover of wild(er) landscapes and throbbing diversity. Grateful I got to experience Ermitaj in its early spring form.
